Resolve Neuropathy Fast With Acupuncture

Acupuncture for neuropathy
At this Chapel Hill acupuncture clinic, we effectively treat neuropathy.

If you live in Chapel Hill, NC and are experiencing peripheral neuropathy then you should try acupuncture. In this blog, I will share with you a case study of one of my patient's who was told by a physical therapist that he will just have to wait it out for 3 months.

What Is Peripheral Neuropathy?

The nerves in peripheral part of the body like the hands and feet are effected causing symptoms of numbness, tingling, burning, cramping, weakness, sensitivity to touch, and even muscle wasting. There are several causes like diabetes, chemotherapy induced neuropathy, nerve impingement, medications, and even nutritional deficiencies.

Chapel Hill Case Study For Neuropathy Resolved By Acupuncture

This patient came to me, because he is a very active guy and maintains overall good health. He had been struggling with numbness going all the way down his leg and into his feet. This was very concerning for him, so he went to a physical therapist who just gave him advice to wait it out. This wasn't a solution for him, so he came to see me. During my assessment, I noticed he had tight glutei and hamstring muscles that was probably compressing the sciatic nerve. From the orthopedic testing, he presents with multiple muscles that were inhibited in his hip girdle.

I prescribed him 3 treatments per week for 4 weeks and after the first treatment of acupuncture he regained feeling in his foot and some sensation back in his calf. During the course of treatment, I restore function in the muscles that were inhibited, stimulated the sciatic nerve, and relaxed tight muscles using electro-acupuncture. By the third week, he was 95% resolved. Because he was proactive and sought treatment during the acute phase, we were able to get him fast results.

How Does Acupuncture Improve Neuropathy?

Acupuncture works by stimulating the nervous system, increasing blood flow, and remove neurogenic inflammation. Adding electro-acupuncture helps replaces the lost electron charge in the channels and nerve pathways.

Depending on the patient's constitution, supplements and botanical medicine may need to be prescribed to help give the body the proper building blocks to help the nerves and support the tissue.

I hope you find this story inspiring. Always get a second opinion from other medical providers. And seek treatment early rather than waiting too long.

Wishing You A Vibrant Life,

Stacy
