Easiest Almond Milk Recipe!
If you haven’t tried making your own almond milk, you are in for a real yummy treat. It is so easy to make and only takes a few minutes! Try drinking it straight out of a glass or add it smoothies, cereals, and teas.
The Deceit of Almond Milk!
Don’t waste your money purchasing almond milk from the grocery store. If you missed the big scandal, Almond Breeze was selling so called “almond milk”, which only contained 2% of almonds in each carton of milk. Plus, the nut milks contain preservatives that aren’t good for you anyway. Once you tried homemade almond milk; you will quickly realize it just doesn’t taste as good.
Almonds Are Highly Nutritional!
According to Chinese Nutrition, almonds are sweet in flavor and works on the lung and large intestines. So almonds are helpful in treating constipation, cough, and wheezing. However, you will want to avoid drinking almond milk if you are suffering from congestion and phlegm. The sweet flavor of the almonds is moistening, which can contribute to more mucus production.
Nutritional benefits of almond milk: healthy fats, protein, calcium, magnesium, potassium, Vitamin A, B, and D.
Recipe: ORGANIC FOODS ALWAYS
½ cup Raw Almonds
5 cups Filtered Water
5-6 Dates, pits removed (optional)
1 tbsp vanilla (optional)
Soak the almonds overnight with a pinch of sea salt. Next, rinse the almonds and put all the above ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth. It is optional to strain the milk in a cheese cloth, but I prefer drinking the extra fiber.
If you want to take it up a notch, try adding some pumpkin spice, cinnamon, or cacao powder.
